A State of Trance (ASOT) is a weekly held radio-program hosted by trance legend Armin van Buuren. The famous radio show is broadcasted in 84 countries by 100 radio stations and is one of the best listened international radio shows worldwide with an estimated range of 37 million people every single week! To celebrate the 900th episode, ALDA organized the event named “LIFTING YOU HIGHER”. Play BPM was present to make a report, interview festival attendees and trance DJs Estiva and Davey Asprey and of course to enjoy the most visited trance festival in the world.

A State Of Trance proved once again why it is the biggest trance festival in the world! With 35,000 fans attending the festival ASOT and ALDA events achieved another milestone characterizing their collaboration. They celebrated 900 episodes of Armin van Buuren’s radio show, the festival was completely sold-out! This was the line-up:

Besides festival-attendees, ASOT900 was broadcasted live to over 10 million fans worldwide. More than 40 DJs played their sounds, divided over five stages. Each stage with a different trance music style. Armin van Buuren kicked-off with a special warm-up set at the main stage one hour before the rest of the stages were opened. It was only accessible for people with a special ticket, I never saw a crowd enjoying so much from the first hour of a festival. Armin performed right from his heart with a melodic trance special. When he finished his set, we stayed at the mainstage to see the live performance of Estiva and Cosmic Gate .

After the interviews, we continued to the PSY stage which is known from its magical energetic experience as well. We saw Astrix for a bit and walked to the “Road to 1000” stage where new talent gets a chance to play the future of sound. Kohma for me an unknown name in the music scene surprised me with some really cool “feel good” trance music in combination with progressive house. He was also performing at Armin’s episode ASOT 902 two days before. Definitely, a name to remember!

The night continued with a look at the new Are you afraid of 138 stage where Giuseppe Ottaviani from Italy performed an amazing more harder kind of trance set. After this adventure, we came back to the hero himself ARMIN VAN BUUREN at the main stage where he performed until 3 am. Check his amazing live set here
